Do you not really know why he went to his bed? I like to think it was an act of selflessness–to give his father years to create the pulley, and stop thinking of the elevator tragedy. To give his mother something to focus on. To give his brother love. I can’t stop thinking about this book. Your review is wonderful. I had to reread sentences over and over again too.
